About the event

This free webinar is for GPs, Practice Managers and Community Mental Health Practitioners in CAMHS or Adult Services supporting patients with mental health concerns. Find out how music - both making music and active listening - can improve wellbeing in both patients and staff.

Two of North London Music Therapy's HCPC-registered music therapists will take you through a practical series of strategies to help you help your patients integrate music into their everyday, improving mental health and wellbeing. We'll also think together how we can support staff mental health and wellbeing. Find out:

- What music therapy is

- How music helps with mental health

- What music therapy looks and sounds like, with examples from sessions

- How to access music therapy for your patients with mental health concerns

Based in North London, NLMT work across London with adults, adolescents and children, using music as part of therapy for those struggling with stress, anxiety or depression. We set up new remote music therapy services during the pandemic, training others in how to carry out this work. Our Phone Support Service, offering acute support for NHS key workers during lockdown, was nominated for an Advancing Health ESTEEM Award for the speed and quality of our service.
